It's August 13th, which means it's International Lefthanders Day, a worldwide initiative kicked off in 1976 to "promote awareness of the inconveniences facing left-handers in a predominantly right-handed world." And can you imagine the struggles of being a left-handed musician, at that? Guitarists either need to find left-handed guitars, or get right-handed guitars and alter the string position for a left-handed player. Drummers have to arrange their kits accordingly. Even piano players struggle with using their less-dominant hand for melody lines. And what about the triangle players??? So, on this International Lefthanders Day, KEXP gives a left-handed salute to those musicians who overcome their dexterity in the name of rock.
