During this stressful period of self-isolation and social distancing, two of the leaders in synthesizer manufacturing have offered up their apps for free to promote creativity during the coronavirus pandemic.
Moog Music Inc. have offered up their Minimoog Model D Synthesizer app for free download for iPhone and iPad. "A gift to spread positivity, creativity, and expressivity," they state in a press release. "A moment to slow down, appreciate our innate strength, and experience the uplifting power of sound. A chance to share the way we hear the world around us…"
Similarly, Korg Inc. have released their KORG iKaossilator app for free, which usually retails for $20 USD.
"Schools, workplaces, and meetings worldwide have been requested to close by their respective governments and so many people are studying and working from home," they write on their website. "To help you with a musical way to occupy your mind we have decided to make the Kaossilator app for iOS and Android free of charge for a limited time." (iOS version: through March 31, 2020. Android version: From March 13 to March 20, 2020)
Moog adds: "As we find ourselves in unfamiliar settings: stay open, stay safe, and #synthesizelove."
