Midnight in a Perfect World: Vince Clarke

Vince Clarke is a legendary English musician best-known as the co-founding member of iconic synth-pop acts Erasure, Depeche Mode, Yazoo, and The Assembly. With an influential career dating back to the late 1970s, Clarke has written countless hits, sold millions of records, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020 as a member of Depeche Mode. Over 40 years since emerging onto the music scene, Vince unveiled his debut solo album Songs of Silence on November 17th via Mute Records, a 10-track instrumental album of evocative ambient beauty created solely from his trusty Eurorack modular synthesizer.

Vince's exclusive guest DJ mix for Midnight in a Perfect World taps into the sweeping widescreen sounds that can be found on his new solo album, as well as including some colorful contemporary synth-pop jams that nod to his genre-defining resumé and legacy.

Midnight in a Perfect World, KEXP's weekly hour-long guest DJ show, airs Fridays at midnight.
