Introducing Goyri: KEXP’s newest DJ and Co-Host of El Sonido

KEXP has announced the addition of their newest on-air DJ and the new co-host for El Sonido – San Francisco-based DJ, writer, and music event organizer Guillermo Goyri. Goyri will join current El Sonido host Albina Cabrera as a rotating co-host, alternating duties week to week. Goyri’s first episode as co-host will air Monday, October 14th, 7-10PM Pacific, and will be available on-demand for two weeks after the broadcast at KEXP.ORG and the KEXP mobile apps. Goyri will host El Sonido every other week live from KQED in San Francisco, where KEXP has a previously-announced partnership.

El Sonido, KEXP’s modern Latin music show, will celebrate 15 years on the air in 2025. Alongside founding host DJ Chilly, Albina Cabrera joined as co-host and Latin Partnerships and Editorial Manager in 2020. This past summer, Chilly announced that he’d be stepping back from the show, kicking off the search for a new co-host. Over the past decade, KEXP has seen increasing listenership and audience engagement with Latin American and Spanish-speaking audiences, driven by growing popularity of Live on KEXP sessions on YouTube, and the publication of El Sonido: Cancioneros and El Cancionero de Kurt, KEXP’s first Spanish-language podcasts, created and hosted by Albina Cabrera.

Goyri has spent over 22 years as a dedicated radio DJ, curating music that highlights diverse voices, especially within the Iberoamerican scene. With a deep passion for underground and independent sounds, Goyri has built a reputation for bringing fresh, boundary-pushing music to the airwaves. Goyri also runs Psyched! Radio SF, a platform dedicated to supporting countercultural music and independent artists.

Alongside the radio work, Goyri organizes Psyched! Fest, an annual event that brings together art, music, and community. As a journalist, writer, and poet, Goyri continues to foster creativity and build connections through various forms of storytelling and expression.

KEXP presenta a Goyri - El nuevo DJ y co-anfitrión de El Sonido

KEXP ha anunciado la incorporación de su nuevo DJ y co-anfitrión de El Sonido - Guillermo Goyri, un DJ, escritor y productor de eventos musicales con sede en San Francisco. Goyri se unirá a la actual anfitriona de El Sonido, Albina Cabrera, como co-anfitrión rotativo, alternando sus funciones cada semana. El primer episodio de Goyri como co-anfitrión se transmitirá el lunes 14 de octubre de 7 a 10 PM, hora Pacífico, y estará disponible on-demand durante dos semanas después de la emisión en KEXP.ORG y en las aplicaciones móviles de KEXP. Goyri presentará El Sonido cada dos semanas en vivo desde KQED en San Francisco, donde KEXP tiene una alianza previamente anunciada.
