El Perro del Mar is the alias of Swedish singer, multi-instrumentalist, and composer Sarah Assbring, an artist who's been a relentless shapeshifter since breaking through with her debut release in 2005. Across her nearly two-decade long career, she's explored a wide range of styles that has encompassed doo-wop redux, mystic ballads, electronic dance, loner’s laments, ecstatic love songs, film soundtracks, dance scores, global pop, political pop, existential pop and more. Her 8th studio album titled Big Anonymous is a grief-stricken record that confronts the existential questions surrounding life and death and came out February 16th via City Slang Records.
For her guest DJ mix for Midnight in a Perfect World, she's given these selections the sub-title 'Stealing green from the grass and blue from the sky.' Much like her new album, it’s a beautiful, haunting, and hypnotic journey that explores orchestral pop, ambient, jazz, drone, experimental pop, and more.
