Jabu are a Bristol, UK-based trio composed of Jasmine Butt, Alex Rendall, and Amos Childs. Together they create nocturnal, intimate, and atmospheric music influenced by R&B, shoegaze, dream-pop, dub, ambient, and other experimental styles. Their distinctive sound is on full display on their third full-length album A Soft and Gatherable Star that came out in October 2024 on their own label, do you have peace?
In regards to their hypnotic, evocative, and slow-burning guest DJ mix for Midnight in a Perfect World, Jabu shares, "This is a selection of music that seemed fitting for the short days and long nights, we included some of Koji Kondo's Majora's Mask soundtrack as it (and the game as a whole) are weirdly tangled up with this record [A Soft and Gatherable Star] for us."
